Alberta Recreational Canoe Association
The Alberta Recreational Canoeing Association (ARCA) was formed in 1973 by the paddling clubs of Alberta to address the needs of the recreational paddlers in Alberta.
Alberta Whitewater Association
The AWA is the provincial governing organization for kayak and closed deck canoe paddle sports. This includes K1 and C1/C2 slalom and wildwater racing, freestyle competition, educational and instructor certification, and recreational paddling.
Bow Waters Canoe Club
Bow Waters Canoe Club, established in 1972, is a group of people who enjoy paddling the rivers of Alberta, British Columbia and beyond! In addition to organizing over 100 river tours, they also offer equipment rentals, lessons, youth programs, social events and a newsletter.

An outdoor fitness company based out of Allen Bill Pond and the surrounding trails offers 6 week programs and drop in sessions combining running/hiking, cycling and kayaking. As well, they teach private kayaking lessons to individuals and groups. Crystal Shimoon is a CSEP certified personal trainer, and a certified kayak instructor through canoe/kayak Canada as well as a swiftwater rescue guide and technician through The Lifesaving Society of Canada.
To promote all forms of recreational paddling to Canadians of diverse abilities, culture or age, to advocate for a healthy natural environment, and to develop an appreciation for the canoe and the kayak in our Canadian heritage.
Waterwerks Kayak Club
Waterwerks Kayak Club is a Calgary based whitewater kayak club that supports youth and adults in recreational and competitive kayaking and closed deck canoe activities (C1, C2). Join us for instructional and drop in POOL programs, river trips, instructional river programs, slalom and freestyle coaching, safety and leadership courses for certification as well as social events.
